Dr. Winston is Vice President, Global Oral Care Measurement Sciences and Professional Scientific Relations at the Procter & Gamble Company. Her areas of responsibility encompass the continuum from the laboratory to the patient including microbiology, analytical chemistry, statistics, data management and clinical research. She is responsible for developing technologies and products to improve the health of the worlds’ consumers. Her current role involves interfacing with regulatory bodies, dental associations, dental academic institutions and other stakeholders in the oral health community globally. Dr. Winston has served on two advisory councils at National Institutes of Health (NIH), both the NIDCR Advisory Council and NIH Council on Councils influencing the critical need for public private partnerships to address our biggest oral health issues. She advocates for increased funding for dental and craniofacial research with lawmakers and drives ongoing messaging on the urgent need to tie learnings in the lab/clinic to patient behavior change to drive meaningful, sustained changes in oral health for now and the future.
Dr. Winston received her dental degree from the University of Iowa (1988). She received her PhD in Oral Biology (1995) from the State University of New York at Buffalo as well as her Certificate in Periodontology (1994). Her work experience includes both private practice and an academic teaching appointment. Dr. Winston has published her research extensively and presented at major dental meetings around the world.
