About Forsyth’s Craniofacial Symposium
Craniofacial anomalies are the most common type of birth defect, representing one-third of all congenital deformities. In the United States, approximately 600,000 individuals are diagnosed with a craniofacial condition every year. The global health care costs attributed to these conditions exceed $500 billion annually.
The Forsyth Institute 5th Annual Scientific Symposium: Craniofacial Biology, Disease, and Regeneration, aims to promote better understanding of craniofacial development and disease, leading to knowledge translation for disease prevention and treatment. The Symposium will bring together researchers and clinicians working on different aspects of craniofacial biology, including but not limited to cranial neural crest development, cell-type specification and lineage commitment, cleft lip/palate, craniosynostosis, midfacial disorder, bone and cartilage regeneration, single-cell profiling, and genomics. The Symposium will include poster presentations by attendees and talks by renowned leaders in the field.
