Alex Grossman is a Postdoctoral researcher in the Bor lab who specializes in microbial ecology, physiology, and symbiosis. He utilizes a combination of molecular biology and bioinformatics to characterize the mechanisms bacteria use to establish and maintain symbiotic relationships. By studying the recently cultured, ultra-small bacteria from the Candidate phyla radiation Alex hopes to learn more about episymbiotic bacteria, the oral microbiome, and their collective impact on human health.
