Inventor, renowned researcher, until recently Director of Clinical Research, and Senior Member of Staff at the Forsyth Institute since 1976. Dr. Goodson is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Goodson is a pioneer of local antibiotic therapy in periodontal disease and received the 1995 International Association of Dental Research Distinguished Scientist Award in Pharmacology, Therapeutics and Toxicology for his contributions in local drug delivery. He is founder of On-Site Therapeutics Inc. and Actisite Pharmaceuticals and inventor of Actisite®, the first therapeutic in this class, and together with ALZA introduced the product to the market, receiving market approval in the U.S. and Europe. Dr. Goodson holds degrees from Texas University (BA, Chemistry), University of Texas Health Sciences Center (DDS), and University of Rochester Medical Center (PhD and MSc in Pharmacology).
