Research with the power to change the lives of millions and shape the future of oral health care has a new home. ADA Forsyth’s incredible new facility in Somerville, Massachusetts, will allow the organization to continue pushing the boundaries of possibility with increased research capacity.
ADA Forsyth began its move to the state-of-the-art 100 Chestnut St life sciences facility. The LEED Platinum-certified building, designed by worldwide architecture leader Gensler, offers AFI the ability to nearly double its research capacity.

AFI’s administrative offices and labs occupy the fourth floor of the new building, with 40% increased lab capacity. These new labs include space for testing commercial and professional products for the ADA Seal. The testing labs were relocated to AFI after the integration with the ADA Science and research institute.

The second floor houses incubator space and the ADA Forsyth Entrepreneurial Science Center, where AFI assists companies in developing technology for commercialization.
On the third floor, Hatch.Bio offers fully equipped workspaces and premium laboratories.

On the first floor, AFI’s full-service dental clinic Forsyth Faculty Associates will offer dental care to patients. The new dental facility has 12 dental chairs, and will also house clinical trials being conducted at ADA Forsyth’s Center for Clinical and Translational Research. The spacious Triangle Coffee space on the first floor offers space for staff through the building to meet, enjoy coffee, and eat lunch.

The Brickbottom District where 100 Chestnut St lies is one of 138 Opportunity Zones in Massachusetts. It is an area deemed ideal for facilitating the institute’s growth and contributing to the development of the local community.
