ADA Forsyth Institute’s (AFI) Summer International Research & Clinical Experience is an oral health-focused education program for international dental and post-graduate students. The program pairs students with AFI faculty researchers as mentors. Students learn basic laboratory techniques in a productive and enriching scientific environment while being immersed in Boston’s rich dental academic and research networks and culture.
Highlights of the program include:
- Mentoring by world-renowned AFI scientists in clinical/translational and basic science research
- Housing in a Boston-area university dormitory and public transportation (MBTA) Pass
- Lectures by AFI scientists in expertise areas, including dentistry, oral health research, immunology, microbiology, and mineralized tissue biology
- Weekly Professional Visits to Boston-area dental schools
- Social activities in and around Boston and New England
- Weekly networking sessions within AFI or Boston communities
- Certificate of Completion
- Membership to AFI Alumni Association

Tuition:
- $2500-5000 (depends on sponsorship availability: please check at your home institution for options or inquire at AFI)
- Includes housing, bedding, transportation, activities, some meals, research supplies, clinical supplies, faculty/mentors time, AFI swag including lab coat and scrubs, application fee, facilities fee

Candidate requirements:
- Advanced English
- Enrolled in dental school outside of US as 3rd year dental student or later through post graduate student
- Tourist Visa (participation letter from AFI available as needed)
- Ability to pay Student costs and Tuition fees (scholarships possible)
- Must be at least 21 years old

- Letter of Recommendation from current or former professor(s)
