ADA Forsyth celebrates Gold at MassEcon Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards Gala at Gillette Stadium

The ADA Forsyth Institute joined 12 other highly innovative Massachusetts-based companies at Gillette Stadium as part of MassEcon’s 22nd annual Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards.

ADA Forsyth won the Gold Award in the Greater Boston Region, recognizing the positive economic impact generated by our 2025 relocation to a state-of-the-art, LEED Platinum facility at 100 Chestnut Street, Somerville. The move brought more than $100 million in research funding, a growing workforce, and increased research capacity and product testing to our new community.

Relocating the headquarters of a 116-year-old organization (the prior 15 spent in nearby Kendall Square) was an enormous project that required the coordinated efforts of every department. A group of team members across administrative, clinical care, and research units joined AFI leadership at the awards ceremony to celebrate this shared achievement.

New and longtime members of the ADA Forsyth family also joined as our guests at the event, including JLL Managing Director Robert Coughlin, a City of Somerville representative, and AFI Board members Dr. Maria Ryan, new ADA Executive Director Dr. Nader Nadershahi, and Dr. Jonathan Knapp.

In his acceptance speech, ADA Forsyth CEO Dr. Wenyuan Shi spoke about the foundational discoveries that dot ADA Forsyth’s 116-year history, including establishing one of the first dental hygiene schools in the nation and pioneering research into fluoride treatment. Following the organization’s foundational mission, ADA Forsyth continues to provide dental care to thousands of children in need.

Thank you, MassEcon, for the incredible recognition. We look forward to further supporting development and innovation in the Commonwealth!
