ADA Forsyth celebrates oral health innovation, community programs at 2nd Annual Networking and Golf Fundraiser

ADA Forsyth leadership and key executives in oral health and life sciences shared a joyous and perfectly sunny, 75-degree Monday at Renaissance Golf Club in Haverhill, Massachusetts, for AFI’s 2nd Annual Networking and Golf Fundraiser.

JLL, a top commercial real estate firm who partnered with ADA Forsyth for the construction of 100 Chestnut Street, supported the event as a Gold Sponsor. Throughout the relocation project, JLL has quickly become a wonderful friend and supporter of AFI – and, they brought some serious competition on the golf course.

OraBio, a longtime supporter of ADA Forsyth and major player in the oral and systemic health innovation space, supported the event as a Silver Sponsor. ADA Forsyth is grateful for the support of all of our generous sponsors, as all proceeds from Monday’s event went toward important initiatives such as ForsythKids and Forsyth Student Scholars

Guests arrived and were greeted by friendly AFI staff, who handed them their player bags, sponsored by Gallagher. Networking began as all attendees enjoyed a delicious breakfast, thanks to sponsor Capitol Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, before players headed to the range to warm up.

Golfers teed off at noon in a shotgun style tournament – special thanks to our hole sponsors, Young Innovations and North River Leerink.  Refreshments were provided by on-course drink carts, sponsored by Universal Orthodontics Lab and Dr. Ben Wu. Thanks to Patterson Dental and Voyager Dental, golfers enjoyed lunch on the course without breaking stride, while off-course participants were treated to a barbecue buffet on the clubhouse terrace.

The afternoon networking session began with snacks sponsored by Stemden. As golfers finished their round, they joined all attendees at the clubhouse as the networking reception began, thanks to sponsor Colgate.

ADA Forsyth CEO Dr. Wenyuan Shi spoke at the reception about the tremendous support each sponsor provided for community programs that make a difference in oral health for children and AFI’s research and innovation.

The reception also featured remarks from American Dental Association (ADA) President Dr. Brett Kessler, ADA President-Elect Dr. Richard Rosato, ADA Third District Trustee and ADA Forsyth Board Chairman Dr. James M. Boyle III. Director of ForsythKids Dr. Megan Pugach-Gordon and DJ Cence of Issues Management Group spoke about the impact of school-based dental initiatives in Massachusetts.

Robert Coughlin, Managing Director at JLL, spoke about his organization’s dedication to building infrastructure that supports advancements in life sciences.

The coveted tournament cup will be updated to display the names of the players who won the big prize of the day, first-place foursome, made up of golfers representing TRITECH Communications and JLL.

JLL also made an appearance in the second-place foursome alongside players from MassBio. The third-place foursome, including some of last year’s champions, rounded out the competition with players from ADA and ADA Forsyth.

Additional prizes and accolades were awarded for Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, and a handful of raffle winners.  Thank you to AFI’s Shawn Eung for furnishing our golf-themed prizes, and to ADA Forsyth Faculty Associates for their generous donation of teeth whitening services to two lucky raffle winners!

Thank you again to all of our supporters and participants from near and far – we will see you at the next tournament!
